Types of clasps for bracelets and necklaces

At Muleysa you can find necklaces and bracelets with different types of clasps. We explain what some of them look like so that you can quickly identify them:

  • REASA AND MARINE REASA

The clasp known as Reasa is one of the most commonly used. They are made up of a hollow ring with another ring inside that we can move to open and close thanks to the spring inside the ring. There are simple reasas and sailor reas, the only thing that changes is the design as the mechanism is the same.

CIERRE REASA

  • CARABINER

It is another very common closure and one of the strongest. It consists of a lever that when pushed backwards it opens allowing the insertion of the terminal ring of the chain.

CIERRE MOSQUETÓN

  • BOX

Box latches are two-part latches, one is a small box and the other is a “V” shaped lever that slides into the “box”. To open you press the side lever allowing it to slide out. To close it you simply push it inwards and it snaps into place. It is a very convenient and easy to use type of lock. Some are fitted with an additional security tab.

CIERRE CAJA

  • DUCK

This lock consists of a movable lever that is adjusted with the end of the lock. Special care must be taken with this type of clasp as, with time and use, they become loose and can open easily. This design is generally used on bracelets.

CIERRE PATO

  • MAGNETIC

This fastener consists of two magnets that snap together to prevent them from opening easily.

CIERRE MAGNÉTICO

  • LEVER

The lever lock consists of a metal piece in the shape of a thick bar and another piece in the shape of a circle or square. To use it is as simple as putting the bar in the circle or square and the bar will hit the sides of the other piece preventing it from opening.

CIERRE PALANCA

  • THREAD

One of the most complicated to fasten yourself, it consists of two round pieces that twist together.

CIERRE ROSCA

We hope this has helped you choose the perfect clasp for you. Also find the type of earring clasp that suits you.
